DONATION/FUNDRAISING INFORMATION

Catholic Trips is committed to providing fund-raising for all Catholic schools, Catholic churches, Catholic charities, Catholic newspapers and all Catholic non-profit organizations throughout the United States and Canada.

Money donations can even be sent to individuals and families that our travelers know, who are in need of financial assistance. Many times people and communities rally around a family who have exhausted all their income to pay for a family member’s medical expenses. If you know of any places that raise funds, they need to know about our company.

HERE’S HOW IT ALL WORKS:
If you join us on any Pilgrimage or group tour, Catholic Trips will donate $100.00 per person to the Catholic charity of your choice. If you plan an individual trip with us, a cruise, a winter getaway to Mexico, a hotel reservation, etc., 50% of the commission from your package is donated back to the charity of your choice.

WHERE DOES THE DONATION MONEY COME FROM?
Catholic Trips receives a commission from the tour companies and cruise lines. The money for the donations comes from that commission.

HOW DOES CATHOLIC TRIPS MAKE MONEY?
Our money is made from the remaining commission that is not paid to the charity.

DOES THE GROUP SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR TRAVEL FOR FREE?
Yes, the tour companies and cruise lines provide a free trip to the “tour leader” of every group. There is no cost added onto the price of the tour to pay for this person. Catholic Trips provides spending money and Mass stipends to the bishop or priest for their time and service.

WHY WOULDN'T A PRIEST USE CATHOLIC TRIPS TO PLAN A PILGRIMAGE?
Many individuals who have been conducting tours and pilgrimages have found companies that they are comfortable working with. Perhaps they have even been given a stipend or commission for working with that agency. Since we are a new company, they may not know about us yet. We encourage you to tell your local bishop, priest, nun or deacon about the exciting things we are doing through our company, especially if they escort tours, and about the potential for fund-raising for your parish.

WHEN IS THE DONATION PAID?
All donations are paid by check two weeks after the group has traveled. This allows for any cancellations and penalties that may be assessed to Catholic Trips from the tour operators.

WHEN DO WE DECIDE WHO RECEIVES THE DONATION?
When you make your final payment on your trip, you will then be asked where you would like the donation to go.

Tithing. We believe it is important to give back, plain and simple. God continues to bless all that we do, and in an effort to show our appreciation, we feel everyone can benefit by this concept. Catholic Trips receives business from all over the world, the traveler’s receive a quality travel experience and value, and at the same time, help support any Catholic charity of their choice. Obviously, the Catholic charity itself benefits because of the donation they receive.
